Across from Historical Museum Island and the River Spree sits Infobox; this temporary structure functions as a viewing station for the future Berlin City Museum's developmental phases.
With a footprint of no more than 6,000 square feet, Infobox possesses three individual levels. The first two levels are filled with informative graphics regarding The Museum’s plans and building phases. Once the visitor reaches the third level, they are greeted with an expansive space and grand balcony which provides a sweeping panorama.
The fish-like shell is the product of a number of preliminary models and sketches made to emphasize an organic, horizontal flow. The intent of the design, whether internal or external, is to spark a sense of curiosity for the visitor to catalyze their hunger for exploration and knowledge.
